The Beginning of a Journey
Nora’s story began in December 2023 when they were born to a mother rescued from a puppy mill by the dedicated team at Paws for Miles. Born into deplorable conditions, this resilient pup defied the odds and emerged as a symbol of hope and resilience.
A Beacon of Hope
Our journey with Nora started when our Director, Abby McDermott, came across their story on Facebook. Touched by their resilience, Abby reached out to Paws for Miles, expressing our interest in adopting one of the pups to become a therapy dog for our center. Thus, began a partnership dedicated to nurturing the healing power of human-animal bonds.
Names Full of Meaning
Nora, meaning “Light.” This name reflects the profound impact we believe this puppy will have on the lives of the children we serve.
Training and Development
Currently, Nora is in the initial phases of their training and development to become certified therapy dogs. Under the guidance of our dedicated team of trainers and caregivers, they are learning not only commands and tricks but also the importance of empathy and understanding.
