Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get my child started?
Children are able to get started as soon as our therapists complete a comprehensive assessment and develop a treatment plan based on the needs of each child.
How Long Does Treatment Last?
Treatment timelines are determined based on a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan.
What Happens During The Assessment?
The first part of our process is to complete an assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate how we can help your child and which level of care will be most appropriate. During this initial meeting, we request the parent and child attend together. The parent or guardian will complete intake consents and a thorough history collected so we can appropriately determine next steps for treatment. Please note, we are not able to accept children that are not fully toilet trained.
What Insurance Do You Accept?
We currently accept Medicaid.
What is your staff-to-child ratio?
We maintain a 1-4 staff-to-child ratio for group sessions. Children also receive 1 on 1 support for part of the day.
Does the program provide education?
Kids Thrive is not a formal education provider, however, we do work with each child on individual goals to assist them with being successful in other settings including educational environments. This includes learning how to engage in a classroom-like setting, follow directions from adults, participate in both fine motor and gross motor activities, and interact with peers appropriately. If your child is already connected to a school system, we will collaborate with the school team to ensure your child’s educational needs are being addressed.
Does Kids Thrive Provide Education?
Yes. Kids Thrive offers a Therapeutic Education Program for children who need both academic support and intensive mental health services during the school day. This program is designed for students whose emotional or behavioral needs cannot be met in a traditional classroom, even with accommodations.
Our Therapeutic Education Program combines:
- Individualized academic instruction aligned with each child’s IEP (Individualized Education Plan)
- Daily therapeutic support from licensed mental health professionals
- A low student-to-staff ratio to support emotional regulation, behavior management, and skill-building
- A structured environment that promotes both learning and mental wellness
Please note:
To enroll, we require:
- A referral from your child’s current school administration, and
- A current IEP that outlines the need for a therapeutic educational setting
This program ensures that children receive the education they deserve in a setting that supports their emotional and behavioral growth.
